Bokora People
An ethnic group of approximately sixty thousand people on the south-eastern side of the Karamoja region in Moroto District. These people are feared for their expertise in the raiding of cattle.
We have started to see transformation through evangelism and church planting. We recently took a team into this area and entered one village, or Manyata, where the local chiefs welcomed us openly and eagerly gave their lives to Jesus after hearing his Good News. We are asking the Lord of the Harvest to send indigenous labourers into this ripe field.

The village leaders' main prayer requests were interesting:
Fertility of their wo
men to produce more children- Fertility of their land to issue an abundant harvest
- Longevity
- Peace in their communities and an end to the raiding
Social transformation should include attention to the following areas:
Providing places of worship with trained indigenous pastors
Reduced addiction to locally brewed Sorghum alcohol
Encouraging parents to send their children to schoolPromoting improved food production and agricultural methods
Our indigenous partners need help for some of this to be achieved.
