Church in Northern Uganda
Over the last two decades, the rebel insurgency in northern Uganda has left many Acholi people displaced from their homes and villages. Peace has finally been restored, and the sound of bullets and the fear of death have been replaced with the sounds of construction and laughter. As the people return to rebuild their homes and their communities, it is vital for the church to be involved at its inception. Our vision in Northern Uganda is to see total transformation among the Acholi People.
Rex & Melinda have been traveling frequently to very remote areas of northern Uganda to show the Passion of the Christ film. Amazingly, many people become born again at every showing. They organize Pastors in advance to follow-up these precious souls.

Most churches don’t have suitable premises, but meet on Sunday mornings under a Mango tree, or in a small grass-thatched hut. We hope to begin building permanent structures for regular prayer and worship of these growing communities.
Rural pastors play a major role in community development but lack opportunities to be equipped. We need to support a Pastor’s training for the task set before him in the rebuilding of communities.
You can get personally involved in these three areas that will assist in the transformation of northern Uganda: evangelism, church construction and pastors training. We need to acquire a completely new audio-visual system to improve the effectiveness of the film outreach. We want to build village churches everywhere, and we want to sponsor rural pastors to get the training they cannot afford, but so desperately need.
